The Distinctives:
As a Calvary Chapel church, we hold to the Distinctives that define our fellowship—centered on God’s Word, led by the Spirit, grounded in grace, and anchored in the love of Christ.

Ministry is a divine calling, not a career choice. True pastoral ministry begins with God’s clear calling on a person’s life, confirmed by a servant’s heart and a commitment to love and serve the body of Christ.
Calvary Chapel looks to the Book of Acts as the blueprint for how the Church should function—Spirit-led, rooted in the Word, engaged in fellowship, prayer, and the breaking of bread.
Calvary Chapel follows a pastor-led model, supported by elders, inspired by Moses’ leadership. It’s neither congregational nor board-dominated, but Spirit-led leadership where the pastor seeks God’s guidance.
Believers can experience a distinct empowerment of the Holy Spirit beyond salvation. This overflow (“epi”) relationship enables effective witness and service and includes the operation of spiritual gifts.
The church is not built through human strategies or hype, but by trusting in the Spirit of God. “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it” (Psalm 127:1).
Calvary Chapel emphasizes God’s grace—salvation and sanctification are by grace through faith. Legalism has no place; grace is the atmosphere in which the believer grows.
Systematic verse-by-verse Bible teaching is a core commitment. God’s Word is the foundation for all doctrine and practice and must be taught clearly and faithfully.
Jesus is the center of everything. Worship, teaching, and daily living all revolve around a personal, vibrant relationship with Him.
Calvary Chapel teaches a pre-tribulation rapture of the Church, believing in the literal return of Jesus to take His bride before the Great Tribulation (1 Thess. 4:16-17).
Ministry must remain Spirit-led. Calvary Chapel warns against shifting from Spirit dependence to human effort. What began in the Spirit must be maintained by the Spirit (Galatians 3:3).
Without love, ministry is meaningless. Love is the greatest commandment and must characterize all doctrine, leadership, and service.
Calvary Chapel seeks balance between extremes: law and grace, formality and freedom, Word and Spirit. This balanced approach helps avoid division and fosters healthy growth.
